In 2005 AW Cycles launched a racing team which would compete in all disciplines of cycling. The Reading shop in 2004 underwent a major redevelopment, almost doubling the size of the original floor space. This has allowed the creation of a whole floor dedicated to a specialist road bike section and in addition specialist areas for high end mountain bikes, everyday bikes and an extensive clothing area. As a result the business is now in a strong position to establish the awcycles.co.uk race team.

The plan for 2005 was to establish the frame work for the team, put sponsors in place and find out how best the shop can support the riders to achieve the best results possible. This was achieved to a great success getting riders out in all areas of the sport winning on the road, track on the country, going down hill, and in area of multi discipline sports! Through the next two seasons and the team has continued to grow. We have added riders and all are gaining in experience. In 2007 we were a top 10 ranked team in the UK and for 2008 we hope to push on into the top places in the team rankings.

On this site we hope to give up to date clear results and news about the team and also give exiting news and product reviews of the latest equipment that are available in the shop. We hope that the forum on this site will be a good place to give your own comments on the equipment reviewed, because we fully appreciate that everyone has their own ideas on what make a product good or bad.
